Passengers on the Long Island Railroad were stranded at Jamaica station in Queens Wednesday morning after a power outage shut down train traffic between Jamaica and Penn Station. Crowds of commuters were diverted to the E, J and Z subway lines. Limited service to Hunter’s Point helped alleviate some of the congestion at Jamaica by connecting passengers to the 7 line. Some passengers gave up on their Manhattan-bound commute and hopped back on eastbound trains to work from home.
